President's Message

Whether speaking with health care leaders from large systems, critical access hospitals, or independent medical practices, the conversations consistently turn to the experiences of a turbulent, uncertain health care economy. The “pain of change” is becoming more commonplace as organizations deal with constantly changing requirements, redesigned processes, organizational restructuring, and financial challenges. In one of these conversations, a veteran leader described the difficulties her leadership team has had embracing structural changes within the organization.  “In the past we were more siloed and worked more as independent entities. With the change, we are now more integrated and inclusive, requiring more people at the decision making table. It has been painful trying to settle in.”

Legacy Inspired Leadership for Navigating the Tough Times

We live and grow our legacy daily by our response to each new experience, inspiration and courageous act. On April 28, three Experienced Resources leaders, Jim Koppen, Carol Huttner, and Carmen Hall, shared their stories of legacy building through impactful leadership during tough times at the Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing Spring Conference.

Each year the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST recognizes women who have helped transform the health care industry during their Annual TRUST Forum. This year’s focus was “Innovation in Minnesota Health Care” and five innovation awards were presented on April 25, 2016 at the 2016 Annual TRUST Forum.
