Experienced Resources’ Client wins Three Marketing Awards
Experienced Resources’ client, Lake Region Healthcare, Fergus Falls, received three Aster Awards; a Gold award in the Direct Mail Piece category, and two Bronze awards for Logo Design/Letterhead, and TV/Video Advertising categories. The 2011 Aster Award is a medical marketing awards program allowing healthcare organizations and advertising agencies to compete against similarly sized competitors from across the nation and around the world.
Experienced Resource’s employee Mary Farr serves as Lake Region Healthcare’s Interim Chief Marketing Officer. "We are excited to have been a part of the 2011 Aster Awards and are honored to have received the Gold and Bronze awards. We would like to thank everyone involved that made this possible," said Farr.
Lake Region Healthcare competed in the Hospital 76 – 149 Beds group. Each year the Aster Awards has an annual contest allowing entries that have been designed, printed and/or distributed the previous year to be scored, judged and recognized for excellence in healthcare marketing and advertising.
Marketing and Operational Experts assisting Experienced Resources' continued Growth
Experienced Resources is pleased to introduce marketing strategist, Terrie Wheeler, and operations professional, Phyllis Haugen.
Terrie Wheeler has served as a business advisor to Experienced Resources (ER) for the last five years and will be developing and implementing ER’s sales and marketing strategies. Terrie spent the last 15 years as founder and president of Professional Services Marketing, Inc. (PSM). Prior to founding PSM, Terrie directed the marketing and client services function at three major Twin Cities law firms. Terrie holds a master's degree in business (MBC), summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas' Graduate School of Business, where she also earned graduate-level certification in public and media relations.
Phyliss Haugen is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and will assist ER in the areas of talent and client development. Phyliss has extensive experience developing and implementing recruitment, employment and HR service programs within human resource consulting, behavioral health, vocational rehabilitation, and education environments. Most recently, she has served in various roles with Career Partners International, Behavioral Medical Interventions and Personnel Decisions International. Phyliss has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College St. Catherine.
The following interim assignments and projects were recently initiated:
- Marketing/Brand Implementation – Roll out client’s recently developed brand
- Meaningful Use Assessment – Workflow assessment and overview of EMR
- Director of Radiology – Day to day department management and capital equipment implementation
- Clinic Administrator – Provider-based clinic integration and work plan development

Mary Ellen Wells was recently elected as an At Large board member for the University of Minnesota’s Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Alumni Association/Foundation.
Mary Ellen Wells and Mary Foarde, J.D., Friedmann Foarde, Minneapolis, MN, presented at the Minnesota Hospital Association’s 25th Annual Trustee Conference on July 9, 2011. The presentation, Governance Practices and the Intent of the Law, educated participants on current regulations and steps to take to govern more effectively.
Mary Christensen and Mary Ellen Wells attended the Medi-Sota Annual Golf event at Thumper Pond golf course in Ottertail on May 25, 2011. Experience Resources was a sponsor for the event and is proud to support the work of Medi-Sota, a non-profit healthcare consortium of 33 rural health care providers in Minnesota.
Mary Christensen and Damian Martin attended the SHiFT event, Move to Meaning in Life and Work, featuring Marc Freedman and the Big Shift, on May 3, 2011. SHiFT is a non-profit network whose mission is to be the Twin Cities hub of support for those at midlife who want to create more meaning in their lives and work.
